CDS AA Clinic: We're very pleased to announce that Alyssa Buenting will be our SN representative at the CDS AA Clinic with Lilo Fiore at Starr Vaughn Equestrian Center in Elk Grove, March 7-9.
Cavaletti Clinic with Erika Jannson, May 3-4 at Franktown Meadows: The SN Chapter is once again hosting a cavaletti clinic with Erika Jannson. Cost is $150 for one day, $250 for both days. VERY IMPORTANT: To reserve a ride is to send a check payable to SNC-CDS for either $150 or $250 to SNC-CDS P. O. Box 2637 Carson City, NV 89702
The clinic will fill first paid first served, i.e., in the order that the checks are received.
Bit Clinic with Kim Gentry: We have enough participants for the clinic to take place. We are still working on setting the date.
Sponsorships for the 38th Annual Dressage in the Sierra, June 7-8, 2025: We'll be announcing a sponsorship plan for our annual show.
Consignment Tack Sale at Dressage in the Sierra: We'll be hosting a consignment tack sale during Dressage in the Sierra. Like past sales, set up will be Friday afternoon and the sale will run Saturday and Sunday. The chapter will earn 30% of the sold price on each item. Details will be announced as we get closer to the sale.

Volunteers! The Cavaletti Clinic needs several volunteers spread over two days. Times are estimated.
- Saturday 8 AM- 12:00 PM - assist Erika with unloading the cavalettis and help her set them up for each clinic group.
- Saturday 12:30 PM - 5:00 PM - assist Erika with setting up cavalettis for each clinic group.
- Sunday 8 AM- 12:00 PM -- assist Erika with setting up cavalettis for each clinic group.
- Sunday 12:30 PM - 5:00 PM - assist Erika with loading the cavalettis and help her set them up for each clinic group.

Bit Clinic with Kim Gentry: The bit clinic with Kim Gentry is tentatively scheduled for Friday, July 25th with potentially, a lecture session Thursday, July 24th. Dates are still being confirmed.
- The clinic currently has a wait list. You can be added to the wait list by emailing Beth at ecoffeycurle@gmail.com
- The final clinic fees will be announced once all the travel, accommodation, and facility rental expenses are finalized.

The SN Chapter will apply for a CDS Chapter Educational Event Scholarship to help offset the non-rider participant costs. Thank you Kathy Pavlich for coordinating this clinic for the chapter!

Consignment Tack Sale at Dressage in the Sierra: We'll be hosting a consignment tack sale during Dressage in the Sierra in conjunction with the Sierra NV Hounds club. Like past sales, set up will be Friday afternoon and the sale will run Saturday and Sunday. The chapter will earn 30% of the sold price on each item sold by a SN Chapter member and the hunt club will earn 30% of the sold price on each item sold by a SN Hounds member. Details and consignment paperwork will be announced as we get closer to the sale.

9 riders have committed 2 days each. The clinic needs 14 riders each day to break even. Four volunteers are needed - one per shift. Saturday AM & PM, Sunday AM & PM. 1 volunteer spot has been filled so far. Please reach out to Jen Smith to volunteer for a half day shift.

Dressage in the Sierra, June 7-8 at FM
Thank you Theresa for the help compiling the many required pieces for the prize list. It has been approved by the USDF and CDS. USEF no longer does an official full prize list review but it has been loaded onto the USEF competition dashboard and marked as accepted.
FM is re-doing the outdoor dressage court. We have received the awards for the KWPN and National Pony Dressage Cup high points. Ribbons, awards, and bridle numbers are all set. The show is posted on www.horseshowoffice.com. Dressage in the Sierra is scheduled to open on-line May 1. Closes May 30. Late entries $50 fee. Show officials will stay in the Hilton at the Summit mall as it is close to restaurants and easy for volunteer pick up and drop off.
Consignment Tack Sale, June 7-8 during Dressage in the Sierra
- The SNC Chapter is co-hosting a consignment tack sale with the Sierra NV Hounds Club during our Dressage in the Sierra dressage show.
- The consignment fee for all items sold is 30%, credited to either the Dressage Chapter or the Hunt Club depending on the membership of the consignee. Saddles are consigned at 10%.
- An email with the attachments will be sent out to both membership groups. Only equestrian tack, equestrian apparel, and stable equipment in good, new, or nearly new condition will be accepted for the consignment sale. No items will be stored after the sale for any future date.
- This includes donated items. Sale item drop off will be Friday, June 6th, 1:00 - 5:00 PM. Spring is a great time to start looking through your tack room and closets and cleaning those items you no longer use.
- The Consignment agreement and Sale item descriptions forms will be emailed May 1.

38th Annual Dressage in the Sierra, June 7-8 at Franktown Meadows Equestrian Facility: Please remember this is a chapter run event. We host this show to allow the chapter members to qualify for regional and national awards without the burden of additional travel to CA. We need everyone's help for the show to run smoothly. There are lots of jobs competitors can do and not interfere with their ride preparations. Show opens 05/01/25 on www.HorseShowOffice.com - prize list, all of the releases are posted to that site. Don't forget proof of your horse's current inoculations. Entries must be received by 05/30/25.
- USEF Rule New 2025! All volunteers, staff, and show officials sign a USEF release in addition to the CDS release.
- USEF Rule New 2025! Riders and lungers may only have one (1) earbud in while mounted or lunging. No one may ride or lunge with an earbud in both ears.
- USEF Rule New 2025! Entries (electronic or paper) must include signed releases at the time of entry. Failure to do so can result in the issuance of a yellow card.

DIS 2025 Meet & Greet: We will host a casual get together at the Tack Consignment Sale Saturday afternoon, near the end of the show day. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Start time to coordinate with the show schedule. Everyone is welcome!

Only current SN Chapter members and SN Hound members may sell items. The sale is open to the public. All items must be in new or good-new condition to be accepted for the sale.
Please no helmets. Only equestrian equipment, apparel or stable equipment will be accepted; no household items.
All items must arrive pre-tagged with price and identification.
Check-in to sell items is Friday, June 6th 1:00-5:00 PM. All items must be picked up by 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 8th. This includes any item donated for sale.
Please do not leave your items for the chapter to discard after the sale.
Bit Clinic with Kim Gentry, July 24 or 25: We are still waiting to hear back from Kim which day the clinic will take place. She is coordinating a west coast clinic tour and we are part of this trip. CDS AA 2026 Clinic: The SN Chapter has received an anonymous donation to pay for the SN Chapter member to attend the 2026 CDS Adult Amatuer Clinic next spring!

SN Chapter Basket for the CDS Fundraiser:
- CDS has asked each chapter to create a basket for the CDS Basket Fundraiser and bring it to the CDS Annual Show in September. (This replaces the CDS Annual Basket Fundraiser at the CDS Annual Meeting.)
- All SN Chapter members are asked if you have anything to contribute to our basket, please make arrangements to ship or drop off the item to Beth and the basket will be delivered to the CDS Champ Show in September.

- Drop Off at the Rock Farm address OR with Jocelyn at Franktown Meadows and it will be picked up from there.
38th Annual Dressage in the Sierra, June 6-7, 2026 at Franktown Meadows:
TD has been hired, contract needs to be sent to FM, still looking for a "S" judge.
2026 Bit Clinic with Kim Gentry:
- Dates to be announced at a later date once Kim sets her 2026 summer schedule. We anticipate the clinic to have similar dates as this year - July 23-24 - but it may move to a date that best works with Kim's CA clinic tour.
- Due to the overwhelming popularity of this year's clinic, we have requested 2 days. Kathy P and Beth will research the possibility of the clinic being recognized for USDF University credits.
- A participation deposit fee will be organized and announced soon as this 2 day Chapter organized clinic may fill very fast.
- Details to come on the clinic deposit program soon.

September Minutes
The CDS & USDF Reg 7 Championships are just behind us and as always seems to be the case, the Sierra NV Chapter was well represented from Training -Grand Prix and every level in between including the 4 yr old, 5 yr old, and 6 yr old Futurities! Congratulations to all of the members that showed and the members that made the trip down to MEC to watch, coach, support, and cheer everyone on! The Saturday night performance included SN Chapter member Julia Miniekis showing her horse Ferrari in the GP Freestyle and Maria H's former mount Warvelwind as the vaulting horse for the ShowTime Vaulters vaulting demonstration that included a member of the USA Vaulting Team and a wee 2 1/2 yr old whose mom Stephanie Schauer was a clinician for the SN Chapter a few years ago! The "Farm, Flies, & Vines" SN Chapter basket raised money for CDS & the SN Chapter! Thank you to everyone that contributed to the basket: Maria, Kate, Theresa, Beth, and Olsen's Tack Shop! It was a wonderful basket with Rodney Sterling wine, Sierra NV Hunt wine glasses, Curle hive honey, picnic plates with horse hooves, fly repellent & cloth wiper, and fashion wallet with horses on it.

CDS Education Scholarship Award: We have received tentative approval for our $500 CDS Scholarship request to help offset the bit fitting clinic expenses.
39th Annual Dressage in the Sierra 2026: Judge, TD, and Facility are contracted. Dates are June 6-7, 2026. USEF and USDF licenses have been approved.
2025 Sierra NV Autumn Classic: Saturday, October 4th, at Franktown Meadows
