Clinic Update:
As everyone knows, the chapter has organized several clinics throughout the 2004 calendar. One of the first clinicians who taught this year was Pam Nelson. Pam was the judge for the first show in April held at Cloverleaf. USAE "S" judge Pam Nelson and FEI competitor Heidi Gaian own and operate Villa Rosa. If you would like to know more about them you can visit their web site at www.vrdressage.com . We talked to Joan Wright who rode in the clinic with Pam Nelson after the April show. She reported that Pam was a wonderful clinician. She stated she was very positive in her comments and extremely helpful. She would highly recommend her!
There are still some rides available for the Donna Richardson clinic in July. The clinic will be held at Franktowne Meadows Equestrian Center. Cost is $100 per ride. If you are interested, please contact Joan Wright at 882-9070.
We would love to get some member feedback about other clinicians to post to the site. If you would like to submit feedback about a particular clinician, please contact us at rohirrim@charter.net and we will post your comments. The next chapter clinic coming up is the Donna Richardson clinic July 12th. There are also many other clinicians that come to the area that members would like to know more about. We'd love to hear from you!!
2005 Calendar Note:
Believe it or not, its time to start thinking about dates for the 2005 calendar! The board will be looking at dates for chapter shows for 2005 in order to obtain judges and submit dates for the Omnibus. Please let us know if you know of any conflicting special events such as shows, major clinics, etc.

NEW WHIP RULE
The new whip rule becomes effective June 1, 2004.
These changes affect Article Numbers 320, 1920.5, and 1921.9: Effective June 1 of this year, only one whip, no longer than 43.3 inches (110 centimeters) including the lash, may be used in dressage classes and for warm-up. One standard longeing whip is permitted only when longeing.
These changes apply to all dressage test levels (Intro - Grand Prix) at Recognized Dressage Competitions.
Also note Article 1921 has been changed to prohibit the use of a whip in NAYRC qualifying classes. Previously you were allowed the use of a whip to qualify but not use it in the Championships. Again, this change is effective 06/01/2004.
